Privacy Statement

The Alliance for Lifetime Income has created this Privacy Statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy and should be read in conjunction with the Legal Notice & Terms of Use. Due to the nature of the information we collect from our customers, which may include your address and phone numbers, we believe it is important to protect the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Statement discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the website: protectedincome.org (the “Site”), and how we handle information we learn about you from your visit to our Site. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of information as set forth in this Privacy Statement and acknowledge that we may periodically change, modify, add or remove, or otherwise update this Privacy Statement at our discretion.
The information that we receive and use depends on what you do when you visit our Site.

Information You Provide to Us

In order to take advantage of certain services or features offered or provided on the Site, you may be asked to provide personal information. For example, to join our mailing list or contact a financial professional, we may collect your name, email address, mailing address and phone number. We also may collect other information that you provide or authorize us to access.

IP Address

When your web browser or email application requests a web page or an email from another computer on the Internet, it automatically gives that computer the address where it should send the information. This is called your computer’s “IP address.” (IP stands for “Internet protocol.”) We use your IP address to help diagnose service or technology problems with our server and to administer our Site. We use your IP address to send you the most appropriate advertising based on geographic area or information derived from your IP address. Aggregate information derived from IP addresses may also be reported to advertisers. Your IP address is used to help identify you, to track activity within our Site and to gather broad demographic information which is used to further develop advertisements, products and services.

Information We Collect

When you browse the Site and have not registered for any online service from the Alliance for Lifetime Income, your name, address, phone number or email address are not collected as you browse. The Alliance for Lifetime Income does, however, use cookies to collect information about how our Site is used. Information such as the server your computer is logged on to, your browser type (for example, Netscape or Internet Explorer), and whether you responded to an Alliance for Lifetime Income banner or social ad or email is collected and tracked. This information is used for the purpose of measuring response rates to banner and social ads and email offers. If you are known to us as a registered user of an Alliance for Lifetime Income online service, we may combine information about your use of the Site and the online product or service you utilize with certain other online and offline information we have about you as an Alliance for Lifetime Income customer and information you have provided to us as well as information available from external sources, such as census bureau data, in order to customize your online experience and present you with relevant online and offline offers and updates. We also use a cookie to enable our server to recognize you as a registered Alliance for Lifetime Income online service user when you re-enter our Site. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings or be deleted from our Site and customer information database; see the Choice/Opt-Out section below.

Alliance for Lifetime Income Cookie Policy

To enhance your experience on the Site, we and third parties may use cookies and other tracking technologies as described below.

Cookies are small text files that are placed in your computer’s browser to store your preferences. Cookies may be associated with a unique identification number tied to your computer or device so that you can be recognized as the same user across one or more browsing sessions and across one or more websites. Cookies serve many useful purposes. Analytics cookies store information about what pages people visit, how long they are on the site, how they got there and what they click on. Information supplied by analytics cookies helps us analyze the profile of visitors and provide them with a better experience.

Some areas of the Site allow users to log in and retrieve personal data and account details. Some of these areas use a cookie in order to remember account information. If you want to control which cookies you accept, you may be able to configure your browser to accept all cookies or to alert you every time a cookie is offered by a website’s server. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. Please consult your browser settings or options for information about the choices you have to not receive cookies and/or delete existing cookies from your browser. You may find that some parts of our Site will not function properly if you have refused cookies.

Other Internet technologies include web beacons, which are small bits of code that are embedded in web pages, ads and email and that communicate with third parties. For example, we may use web beacons to count the number of users who have visited a particular web page or opened a particular email. As another example, we may use local shared objects or HTML 5 local storage to help the Services function.

Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” signals to the websites and other online services with which the browser communicates. There is no standard that governs what, if anything, websites should do when they receive these signals. We currently do not take action in response to these signals. If and when a standard for responding is established, we may revisit our policy on responding to these signals.

Third parties that provide content, advertising or functionality may collect or receive certain information about you and your use of the Site, including through the use of cookies and similar technologies. This information may be collected over time and combined with information collected across different websites and devices. For example, you may find embedded videos from external sites such as YouTube or Vimeo on the Site, and such third parties may collect information about you through third-party cookies and tracking technologies that are governed by the applicable third-party’s privacy policy. Visitors may learn about third-party cookies policies on the third-party website’s privacy pages. Some of these companies participate in industry-developed programs designed to provide consumers choices about whether to receive targeted advertising.

Disclosure of Personal Information

From time to time, we enter into contractual agreements with nonaffiliated, third-party providers, such as marketers, Web hosting facilities, transaction processors and decisioning systems. In the course of providing services, these parties may receive your personally identifiable information. These parties, however, are obligated by contract to maintain the confidentiality of the information.

We use the demographic information in your profile to tailor your experience at our Site, showing users content that we think they might be interested in and displaying the content according to their preferences. Overall demographic information may be shared with these advertisers on an aggregate basis.

In addition, we may share your information with a third party in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our organization or assets to a third party, such as in connection with a merger or in the event of bankruptcy.

There may be other instances when we disclose your information to other parties to comply with the law or legal process; to prevent fraud or verify and enforce compliance with our policies and terms; and where otherwise appropriate to protect our or others’ rights, property or safety.

We also may share information with your consent or at your direction or when data is shared in a manner that does not identify particular users, such as, for example, aggregated data about how users are using the Site.

Prospect Information

Our Site encourages registered users to send email messages to us and to provide us with email and name information for friends who may be interested in the services and information provided at our Site. We provide the registered user with an email hyperlink to refer friends to our Site. That information is stored in a prospect database and is listed as a referral from the registered user for up to 90 days. This information is not sold or distributed to any third parties.

Website Links

Our Site contains links to other sites. The Alliance for Lifetime Income is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. These other sites may send their own cookies to you, collect data or solicit personal information from you. Please refer to those sites for specific information about their privacy or security practices or policies.

Changes to the Privacy and Security Policy

We recommend that you revisit this Privacy Statement periodically to ensure that you are aware of our current privacy practices, although we may also elect to notify you by email or by posting something on some or all of the Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes will mean that you accept the Privacy Statement and any changes.

However, please note that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. As a result, although we strive to protect your personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online and cannot be responsible for the theft, destruction or inadvertent disclosure of your personal information.
